WHERE IS PAPUA NEW GUINEA?
The island of New Guinea is the largest island in the southern hemisphere apart from the Australian continent. The eastern half of the island is part of "Papua New Guinea", an independent state since 1975. The western half of the island, now known as West Papua is still administered as a province of Indonesia.

Much of Papua New Guinea's land area remains untouched by industrialization even up to the present day. Previously unknown tribes who have never had contact with the outside world are still discovered from time to time. The inland areas, known as the highlands, remain largely undeveloped apart from agrarian activities.

Papua New Guinea is one of the last, vast unspoiled parts of the world where crops grow magnificently without the use of pesticides or weedicides and where the soil and water remain free of chemical contamination from industry and population pressures. Planting, tending and harvesting of crops is done by hand rather than machinery, which keeps local people employed and hydrocarbon pollutants out of the fields.

Tea and coffee have been grown in the highlands of Papua New Guinea since the 1800s, supplying a steady export market. Until recently however, our excellent quality tea and coffee products have been consumed "anonymously" in other countries under multinational brand names.

Today, organically-grown PNG tea and coffee is packed locally under our own brand names: we want the world to know that the best-tasting tea and coffee comes from Papua New Guinea. Marketing on the world stage has been difficult due to stiff competition from established multinationals, but the internet enables us to make direct contact with importers, wholesalers, retailers, and even end-consumers (ie tea and coffee drinkers).

Here at THE PNG TEA POT we supply the best available PNG tea and coffee products in any quantity, small or large, to customers anywhere in the world by mail order, air or surface shipment. No matter where you are, here is your chance to try what we believe is the world's most delicious tea and full-flavored coffee. Whether it be
- a sample pack for your own kitchen cupboard,
- a trial carton for sale in your gourmet food store, or
- a wholesale order for your distribution network,
THE PNG TEA POT can supply your requirements.

THE PNG TEA POT is a family-owned, registered small business based in Port Moresby, the capital of Papua New Guinea. We also own and operate PNG Handcraft Exports.
